Butler Institute of American Art NEA Grant
June 2002
Thanks to a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts NEA, five
works from the Butler permanent collection have been restored by McKay
Lodge Fine Arts Conservation Laboratory, Inc., of Oberlin, Ohio. Paintings
undergoing painstaking treatment were: Breakers
at Flood Tide by Frederick Waugh; Hazy
Morning Montclair, New Jersey by George Inness; Winter
Sunlight by Charles Rosen; Silvery Waters
by Franklin De Haven; and The Surf by
Soren Emil Carlsen. The newly restored works are on view within the Butler's
permanent collection galleries.
